Studio 6 set design for Sky News

Studio 6 features a triptych of LED screens surrounding a square desk. The reverse of
the studio is occupied by a VR space populated with a newsroom and presentation screen.
The studio is in use from 00.00 – 10.00 incorporating Sunrise as it’s primary strand. These times encompass Sky News’s main viewing hours.

The screens were to be used for VT’s and story images as well as papers. Therefore I had to consider designing a flexible design, based on the presentation requirements. The design also had to consider camera shots and presenter seating arrangements. It was all built in Viz rt using transition logic, using 702 variations in animations to create 27 states and different ways to present. This created a template allowing the gallery and producers to populate the screens with content.
